“Young people can learn from my example that something can come from nothing.  What I have become is the result of my hard efforts.”  -- Haydn

**Private Lessons – are available for ages 3 through adult on the piano, harp and flute.  One-on-one education is the ideal opportunity to learn the language of a new instrument.  Private lessons include instrument technique, hand position, geography and artistry, as well as the rudiments of music theory including:  note reading, rhythm, composer history, ear training, sight reading, composition, incentive competitions and more as the lesson time allows.   Classical music is the main focus for instruction.  Hymn playing and composition is taught when desired for advancing students.  All students are encouraged to participate in studio recitals and ensemble classes.  Call or email Mrs. Wedertz for tuition and lesson time availability.

Semi-Private LessonsNEW this year – This is a new opportunity  for 2 beginning students (1st – 8th grade) to share the same lesson. Each student will need their own set of books (same family may share) and will cover the same lesson each week together in the 30-minute lesson. Computer lab time will be shared by the students.  Semi-private groups will be paired as close to the same age/grade as possible. Tuition fee is required by both students, for each lesson even if one cannot attend a lesson. Tuition is due at the beginning of each month.  The registration fee is $15.00 per student. Each student will receive a personal copy of Clavier’s Piano Explorer Magazine and share the license fees for the computer activities. A Semi-private lesson is the same quality lesson as a private lesson with all the benefits—it is just shared with a friend.

Music for Munchkins – This music class is a great way for 3 - 5 year olds to get involved in music and play the piano in a group setting.   The class is limited to 3 students.  It will cover piano geography, note reading, rhythm and counting, movement and ear training using fun games, rhythm instruments  and activities and, of course, the piano.  You will be amazed at what we can learn in 45 minutes!!  Class is Wednesday 10:00 – 10:45 a.m.  (Afternoon class available upon request)  September 7-December 14, break for the Holidays, class resumes January 5 – May 18, 2012.  See enrollment form for tuition.

Ensemble Classes – are a fun way to learn music with other students.  Classes are designed to enhance the private lesson by involving students in working together in duets, trios, quartets, etc.  Music games are also part of the class to reinforce theory fundamentals.

Computer and Game Lab – 10 minutes after lesson time.  Students continue learning music theory, keyboard geography and ear training using fun games and computer drills.  Lab fee covers the program licenses, materials, and a year subscription to Clavier’s Piano Explorer Magazine.

Adults Music Lessons – For those of you who have said, “I have always wanted to play the piano, but . . .”  Whether you are a beginning student or you want to pick up where you left off, set aside your work issues and get involved in a fun piano lesson.  It can relieve stress, change your focus, and help you to actually be more effective at work.    It is never too late to become involved with music.

Your Tuition Payment is due the first lesson of each month or semester.  This payment is not only for teacher/student lesson time but it also reserves your lesson time and all the materials, and preparation time needed to make each lesson a quality, enjoyable learning time.ed to make each lesson a quality, enjoyable learning time.  There are no credits for missed lessons but I will try to make up the lesson as the schedule permits.  In the event of illness, please let me know as soon as possible.  Please do not bring children to lessons with a fever.  I have provided lesson make up days which is scheduled on the calendar.  If the weather becomes challenging and the roads are impassible, having a lesson via Skype is a viable option for that week.

I would also appreciate students wearing clean socks to lessons to keep the environment as clean as possible.  No chewing gum or drinks during lessons and lab times.   In the event that I need to change a lesson due to a performance or rehearsal schedule, I will contact you as soon as possible (probably by email) and your lesson WILL BE rescheduled.

Class size will determine the availability of classes.  Additional classes are available dependent upon enrollment.
